Mr. Boeckholt's Teaching Philosophy
- I believe that each child is a unique individual who deserves a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere that will help them grow emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially.I believe it is my responsibility as the teacher to guide my students to succeed in academics as well as helping them to become better people.
I believe students need the opportunity to discover for themselves and practice skills in authentic situations. I strongly value hands-on activities so that students can explore on their own and get a deeper understanding of the content.
One tool that I try to take advantage of is students’ interests. With interest comes passion, therefore, if you can strike interest in the students, you can give them a passion to learn. Incorporating students’ interests into the lessons helps to motivate them to do the work while making things more fun and enjoyable. Students will have more meaningful learning experiences and remember what they learned for longer periods of time if they have fun while they are learning.
It is my goal to help all of my students succeed, build their confidence, and do things they never thought they could do in the classroom. I also hope to grow as a teacher with all the experiences my students provide me with, because although I am the one who fulfills the teacher role, each and every one of them teaches me just as much.
